Green Building and Energy Efficiency Workshop

On Thursday, February 19 the KCEDC and Bandera Electric Cooperative co-sponsored a seminar on Green Building techniques and Energy Efficiency in existing buildings.  It was held at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel Conference Center.  Phillip Bell, Commercial Realtor with ReMax and Associates and KCEDC Board of Director, and Steve Williams Bandera Electric Cooperative, Inc. Member Services/ System Safety Advisor, gave presentations that ranged from small tasks anyone can do around their homes and offices to lower electric bills to constructing a purely "green" home.  Guests in attendance consisted of a City Councilman, inspectors, engineers, A/C and Heating industry employees, builders and citizens just interested in being environmental friendly while saving money at the same time.  Comments after the presentations were very positive and everyone seemed to have walked away with ideas on how to be more energy efficient.
