Labor Force

Boerne and Kendall County have populations with educational levels higher than the average for Texas and the entire United States. Boerne has become a "bedroom community" as locals commute to jobs in nearby cities, especially San Antonio.

Local high school and college graduates want to find permanent jobs in order to stay in Kendall County. Though the economy was originally rural and agrarian in nature, the County can boast the presence of top level professionals as well as skilled tradesmen and technicians.

Our workforce is multi-cultural, regional and multi-skilled. There is a huge labor pool of workers within a 50-mile radius. Some local workers are underemployed or working at low wage jobs with little chance for advancement. These workers are eager to qualify for and secure a job with a future.
