Formation of the EDC

November 16, 2004 the Chamber of Commerce named economic development the number one goal for 2005. The City of Boerne, Kendall County, Boerne Chamber of Commerce and Comfort Chamber of Commerce joined forces to create the Kendall County Economic Development Corporation. March 2 and 3, 2005 the unanimous goal of the two day workshop was to establish a county-wide EDC. A task force met on May 3, 2005 to plan assignments and responsibilities and on May 23 the LCRA was recruited and agreed to provide consulting services to assist in the development of a one year and a ten year strategic plan. The EDC was approved to be included in the City of Boerne and Kendall County's budget in July 2005.
